Universal: A Guide to the Cosmos

7:30PM Thursday 28 September 2017 Barca
The venue for this event has changed (again), it is now in the Mick Hucknall suite in Barca.

Jeff Forshaw is Professor of Particle Physics at the University of Manchester and has co-written Universal: A Guide to the Cosmos with Professor Brian Cox. Jeff recently won the Kelvin Medal for explaining science to non-experts. In this talk, he will explain the time before the Big Bang, when the universe was compressed into a space smaller than an atom. He will take us on an epic journey of scientific exploration and reveal how we can all understand some of the most fundamental questions about our galaxy*.

(Possibly including the question of how on earth Donald Trump was elected and how better science education may prevent future similar occurences.)
